I trade options based off the underlying stock. The stocks I choose are typically high priced stocks that have good cashflow, volume.
The stocks I have been trading in the past couple years are: BIDU, GOOG, CME, MON, MOS, RIMM, RIG, CMI, FCX, VMW, AAPL, FWLT, FSLR, FLR, ISRG, SHLD, BG, MA, DRYS, X, SPWR, LEH, GRMN. There are more, but these are the ones I like and there is plenty of money to be made on these.
Futures - ES, YM, NQ
Exchanges:
American
Methodology:
Chartist using price charts (trend lines, support & resistanc),
moving averages, bollingers (fast and slow), volume, RSI, MACD
Before trading:
I make sure I am focused on what I'm doing otherwise I do not trade. Follow the trading plan that includes your trading strategies.
Became profitable when:
very earlier on, before I probably should've been profitable
Most important lesson learned:
My opinion counts for zilch. The market is always right. Remain humble.
Worst trading period:
Looking back, it was not good for me to make a lot of money not knowing anything about the market, thinking I was all that, when I wasn't. That created a lot of bad habits that have been very costly and long to break.
Outside of trading:
I love spending time with my children who are my world. Love exercising (weightlifting, yoga, cycling, running, walking, swimming). Love the outdoors and small social groups. Active in my church.
When not trading:
I'm doing the outside of trading things.
Brokerage:
Infinity, TOS
Hardware :
laptop, wireless connections, webcam
Software:
Trade Navigator
charts:
Line, Candlestick
Indicators:
I use indicators as confirmation as to what I'm already seeing on
the price chart.
cable modem, or high speed wireless card when traveling
Favorite books:
The Bible by God; Candlestick Charting Explained, 3rd Ed by Gregory Morris & Ryan Litchfield; Market Wizards series by Jack Schwager, Come Into My Trading Room by Alexander Elder; Trading In the Zone by Mark Douglas; The Visual Investor by John Murphy
Favorite magazines:
none
Favorite Web sites, blogs:
Wall Street Journal, Briefing, Earnings Whisper, Bloomberg
Best thing about trading:
I get to have freedom with my time, make lots of money, empower my family & others.
